We are the Munder family.
We are Deaf sailors, parents, entrepreneurs, storytellers, and followers of Jesus — learning to live with faith, courage, and purpose aboard our catamaran, Salt & Light.
Our journey is not just about sailing. It is about family, faith, community, Deaf and hearing connection, entrepreneurship, and the courage to follow where God leads.

The Seeds Started Early
Long before we moved onto a catamaran, the dream of sailing had already been planted in both of us.
Adam’s father had a sailboat with friends, which created an early connection to the water and the sailing world.
Jackie had a pen pal friend from Spain who talked about sailing camp. That story sparked her imagination and planted a desire to sail from a young age.
Years later, those childhood seeds began to grow into something bigger.
Our Roots
Before sail life, our story was already full of adventure, risk, and big leaps of faith.
We traveled deeply around the world — trekking the Inca Trail, exploring Patagonia, backpacking through Europe for two months, and choosing experiences that stretched us, shaped us, and helped us see the world differently.
We have always loved depth, not just destinations.
Our story also includes startup life, risky innovation projects at Intel, founding OmniBridge, investing in real estate, running four Airbnb properties, exploring micro-wedding and event opportunities, building products, and creating intellectual property.
Each chapter taught us something:
- How to take risks.
- How to build.
- How to keep going.
- How to listen to God.
- How to create a life with more purpose, not just more comfort.
Why Salt & Light?
Salt & Light is more than boat life.
It is a faith journey. A family journey. A storytelling journey. A Deaf and hearing bridge-building journey. A business and creative journey.
We believe faith brings hope and joy in every circumstance. We want our life to reflect that — not in a perfect way, but in a real way.
We are learning as we go. We are raising our girls on the water, homeschooling, managing businesses, fixing boat projects, meeting new communities, and discovering what it means to live with purpose.
